Description
Crocosmia Lucifer has bright red flowers on arching stems; attractive to hummingbirds and bees; the earliest to bloom in this group; midsummer to fall; full sun; winter hardiness 5-9; 36"-42".

Up to 50 tubular, starry, warm, colorful blooms decorate gracefully arching stems, adding festive brightness to the mid to late summer garden when lots of other plants have finished their show. These pest resistant wonders, with sword-like foliage similar to gladiolus, blend in nicely and add linear accents to the perennial border. The flower arranger's dream, long-lasting Crocosmia adds a special effect in flower arrangements. Happiest in full sun, crocosmias SOMETIMES WAIT UNTIL THE SECOND SEASON TO BLOOM; for best results, should be planted or potted prior to April 15th; 5-10 per sq. ft.

Our pollinators are so important to the sustainability of our gardens and food crops for insect and birds and if each of us participates in healthy gardening practices and chooses some of the pollinator attracting plants, we can collectively make a HUGE difference.
