Description
Hippeastrum Zombie - (sonata) fully double, white flowers with a pink veins and feathering; 14"-16"; 5"-6" flowers; ~ 4 weeks to bloom.

Hippeastrum (Amaryllis) grown in South Africa where their autumn is our spring, these hippeastrums, if planted in November, should be raring to go and be in bloom for Christmas! These Hippeastrums have been bred specifically for pot culture and, therefore, foliage and flowers usually emerge at the same time.  Stems are shorter and stouter so that the flowers do not topple over and are more proportional to the container.  After they have finished blooming, if you keep them in a sunny window and don't let them dry out, after danger of frost, they are the PERFECT size for planting in the garden in areas where they'll be winter hardy to zone 7.

'Sonata types' - mid size flowers for South African varieties; flowers average 5" in diameter; 18/20 cm bulbs.
