Description
Iris japonica Aphrodite has variegated foliage; pale lavender fringed flowers with orange and yellow falls that bloom in the spring; best in a shady location; 8"-12"; winter hardiness zone 7-9; 5-6 in protected area; plug.

Sword shaped linear leaves and usually fragrant blooms growing 2'-3' tall.  Irises come in a huge variety of colors which earned the name of the genus after the Greek goddess of the rainbow.  Divide plants immediately after flowering when overcrowding occurs, usually every 3-4 years.  Plant in full sun.  Great for arrangements.
