Description
'Mango' - similar in color to a very ripe mango; blends to a lemon yellow towards the base and to a soft green right above the stem; speckled green leaves; 12"-18"; whz 7-10. Well known as a graceful cut flower especially in eloquent, large flower arrangements, what may not be known about this plant is its adaptability. We have grown them successfully in a flower border along with other bulbs and perennials, but it also grows happily at water's edge or even potted up and submersed - pot and all - in the shallow end of our pond. The spotted leafed sorts prefer a drier site and often perform well as container subjects that can be kept dry and from freezing when dormant; native to South Africa, its graceful, vase like flowers bloom from mid through late summer; critter resistant; 1-3 per sq. ft.; 12"-18"; and whz 7-10 as long as the drainage is good; 14/+ cm bulbs.
